It doesn’t have to be Christmas, or your birthday, or your anniversary, or NYE. It doesn’t have to be a national holiday, or an international event. There doesn’t have to be anyone around, and it doesn’t have to be sunny outside. You don’t have to write cards, drive miles, say words you don’t feel. Just be yourself, open your heart, and the rest will follow.
We’re not all grateful and happy for the same things, or at the same time… so you shouldn’t feel forced to celebrate something that doesn’t match your heart or timing, that doesn’t have true meaning to you. A celebration is not a date in the calendar, but your choice to rejoice over something you hold dear. It can happen any day, for any reason, no matter if anyone else joins you. Think of how many wonderful persons and things you love and care about.
Celebrate life, celebrate your amazing self, celebrate the people around. Celebrate the feeling of joy you get when you talk to your best friend, celebrate the satisfaction you get from an accomplishment, celebrate the breeze that cools your shoulders on a hot day. You have so many things to celebrate! You can celebrate virtually anything that makes you happy and grateful – any day you choose.
